Mill Creek Restaurants Expanding Service in Phase 2

Many Mill Creek restaurants are open for business.

Small Business Saturday is a national day dedicated to supporting small and locally owned businesses. On Saturday, Nov. 30, the City encourages people to shop locally in Mill Creek.

Embrace the holidays at the annual Mill Creek Santa Parade and Tree Lighting on Saturday, Dec. 7. In addition to the day’s main events, families will be able to enjoy cookie decorating, carriage and train rides, reindeer, musical performances and pictures with Santa.

#trashtag, a social movement that has taken the internet by storm, started as a simple initiative to encourage teenagers to pick up litter in their community. The Mill Creek Arts & Beautification Board hopes to light a similar spark in residents throughout Mill Creek and neighboring communities. With the simple hashtag, #trashtagMillCreek, the A&B Board believes that people can make a positive impact on their community.

The Mill Creek community is once again invited to take part in three summer evening events hosted in the City of Mill Creek’s parks. Back for a second summer by popular demand, the Party in the Park events aim to provide free family-friendly fun while showcasing Mill Creek’s natural outdoor playgrounds.

The City of Mill Creek will again partner with Stars Unlimited to host its annual 3-on-3 Star Fest basketball tournament. The tournament takes place the weekend of July 13¬-14, as part of a full weekend of activity in Mill Creek with the popular Mill Creek Festival.

National Family Health and Fitness Day on June 8 promotes the importance of parks and outdoor recreation in keeping communities healthy and active. The City of Mill Creek’s recreation staff provides the following tips to help people get outside and take advantage of the City’s natural playgrounds that are available for the physical and mental well-being of families.

A hidden treasure right in plain sight, the Delizioso Bistro is right on Main Street, in the heart of Mill Creek. Right next to the Lodge, it shares the Breezeway leading from the Main Street to the Forum, where the music and summer festivities will be happening!

A community tradition nearly as old as the City of Mill Creek, Columbia Funding Mortgage presents the 34th annual Run of the Mill takes on June 29. The Family friendly 5K race is includes elite runners, casual joggers and walkers of all ages. This year’s event has some new components, including Kids at the Creek races, and a kid’s area with even more family friendly activities.

The seventh annual Run With Heart co-hosted by the City of Mill Creek and Columbia Athletic Clubs takes place Aug. 10 beginning at 9 a.m. The event includes activities for the whole family. Registration for the day’s events – including the 5K run/walk, Kid’s 1K, Toddler Trot and Diaper Derby – is now open at www.millcreektourism.com/runwithheart.
